Our Story, Our Farm
Morningside is a family-run smallholding nestled at the meeting point of moor, mountain and farmland in rural Perthshire. From sweeping skies and ancient trees to the roaming geese, wildflowers and farm animals, the land shapes everything that happens here.
Our Story
Peter and Lucy moved to Morningside Farm on rainy winter's day, with a 1 year old, a ‘bun in the oven’, two dogs and four hens. What began as a renovation project soon became a family-run small farm offering meat boxes, eggs and farm stays. We have naturally grown into our sense of place and are now welcoming visitors to share this beautiful location through thoughtful retreats and seasonal offerings, where wellbeing, reconnection and rural life intertwine.
With a background in outdoor education, yoga and conservation land management Lucy brings a rare blend of practicality and soul to this small rural business. Conservation and nature shape our decision making on the farm. Since 2019 we have planted over 1,500 native trees, created an orchard, dug a wildlife pond, reduced grazing on the fields and stopped the use of widespread chemicals on the land. Sheds are left open and undisturbed for owls, swifts and swallows and the existing woodland and ancient trees are now being actively cared for.
The Land
The land and seasons shape the way we live and breathe here at Morningside Farm. There is an abundance of rare Scottish wildlife. You can enjoy a slow morning cup of tea while watching Ravens, Red Kites, Lapwings, Curlew and Grouse or soak in the outside bath at night with Barn Owls and bats under the Milky Way or Northern Lights. Guests can relax by the fire pit as the sun slowly sets over the heather moors or visit the wild mountain burn to rediscover the nourishment of nature. As life here on the farm moves meaningfully through the year visitors are welcome to slow down and rest in nature alongside sheep, dogs, ducks, hens, geese and honey bees. We offer an escape to the countryside where you can experience farm life and eat farm fresh vegetables, eggs and meat.

Hogget Boxes
Happy Healthy 18 month old lamb meat boxes, half and full boxes available for guests, local pick up or delivery. Individual cuts are available to guests staying in The Bothy
Fresh Farm Eggs
Free Range Hen, Duck & Goose Eggs available for guests, or local pick up/delivery
